Electric Panel question

It sounds unfair. It's like requiring homeowner to update electrical in house to meet current codes if they want insurance.
Mind you, my issue is on commercial property.
Like I said I won't go into the technical reasons. The electric grid is not the same as it was 30 years ago. A lot more power is flowing through the system and available to cause faults. There could be a number of different reasons he recommended the device be replaced, especially in a commercial situation. Without knowing the whole system in the building. I couldn't even begin to make a reasonable guess

I asked electrician does the panel needs to be replace.
His answer is whatever the inspector indicated. WTF.
Electrician is the expert and can't give me a honest answer. Just want to make profit of Nando.

Electricians usually go by a visual observation of the physical condition of the panel or whether or not it is of sufficient capacity. What kind of inspector was it that told you it needed replaced.

So he either saw something or know something having to do with the insurance companies underwriting requirements. I would've asked a few questions like you asked here. Especially since he didn't mention the other equipment with the same make. You're like my wife. She never asks follow up questions such as "why"

I got the report to read. I don't have chance to contact inspector. Like appraiser, reader is not the client.

Insurance company wants it replace because the manufacturer is out of business.
Insurance company wants an existing company to go after if something goes wrong.
Maybe its a Federal Pacific breaker box.

Jeezus, what does it take to get a picture?

He hasn't even read the full report from the insurance company. I am sure there was something else except just who made it. Especially since they didn't flag the same brand in the rest of the building
