(Unless there's an actual disability)

If someone's kid isn't reading at grade level in 3rd grade then that's the parent's fault. Not the school. Even the non-english speaking parents have the ability to get that kid to school and make them do the work. If they're not doing the work then there's nothing any school or any teacher can do to compensate for that.

The 5yr old family member who is playing in the other room didn't make it into kindergarden this year but he's already doing 4-function math in his head and can sound out words he doesn't yet know the meaning of. All our kids and grands knew how to read before they stepped foot into the daytime detention centers we laughingly refer to as "school". It didn't take that much effort on our part, just a little attention and support for it.

I don't disagree with that in theory. Problem is all kids aren't exposed to the same level of parenting. Wacha gonna do with the kids that aren't raised in the same environment you espouse? Throw them away?

starlink was shut out of bidens 42 billion dollar rural broadband program established ~4 years ago. so far the program serves 0 people. starlink effectively could have connected every rural home for that 42b makes you wonder
