That's false-ish. The IRS itself instructs you to round to the nearest $1. If they regulaly see nothing but even numbers or all of the numbers end in 5 or 0... then yeah... red flagI've read and been told multiple times that it is a huge red flag to have rounded numbers for deductions on a tax return. Sort of like guys who cite Marshall and Swift in the cost approach and the HSF and garage SF are always nice round numbers.![]()
