I have been taking pictures of all sides of home for FNMA and FHA assignments for a while now. I am trying to complete a FNMA Review and I am trying to find literature on the four sides. The OA has staight front and back pics, I think a better job should have been done to show the subject.

I thought it came with the interior pictures or shortly after, however I cannot find any language for Fannie on four side of home.

FHA has that requirement. You're supposed to take the shots at an angle that shows the front and one side in one view and the rear and other side from the other view.

I don't think FNMA has any special photo requirements. Although I seem to remember from my lender appraisal days some requirement that involves getting a piece of the street in one of the views. This may have been a lender overlay. I can't remember.

What about L shaped houses or U shaped homes? Hard to see all walls.

I've had fencing prevent getting good pix.

And I remember reading here that some of our friendly AMCs decided their FHA reports needed 4 separate shots

aGREED; HOWEVER, I think fannie would like to see a TINY bit of the house in the street scene,
.......not that I've ever had any U/W ask for another pic.

I do not recall any directive from FNMA to include pictures of all sides. I don't generally include them and I've never been stipped for it.

I've always taken all pictures the FHA way because it makes too much sense.

CANative:

Confidentiality (Is the photo of the subjects' address)? I wonder if the license plate might be an issue as well?

They both are exposed to the public. What is considered confidential?

In review, FHA asks for shots showing multiple sides.

In practice, just walk around the darned House and take multiple photos, it's not like you're taping them on the pages.

At a minim, each of my reports has 3-5 (sometimes more) subject exterior shots, a shot of the rear yard from the house, street views in each direction and a view directly across the street.
