A team of researchers at MIT World Peace University has developed a new method to produce green hydrogen from mixed agricultural waste, which could transform our pursuit of clean energy.

According to Fuel Cells Works, the team's process can convert agricultural waste, such as millet stalks and other seasonal residues, into clean-burning hydrogen fuel at a production cost of just $1 per kilogram. This offers a significantly cheaper alternative to traditional methods.

If that wasn't enough, the creation of the fuel also generates biochar and patented biofertilizers that produce nutrients only when in contact with water, reducing the need to rely on urea and other toxic chemicals to feed plants.

"We have used a pyrolysis catalyst derived from plants, helping us produce green hydrogen without carbon dioxide emissions," Ph.D. researcher Aniket Patrikar said.
Green hydrogen is a booming business due to its clean-burning properties.

Any plant to scale will be a commercial operation. Residential appraisers won't be involved
 
U.S. farms are already green energy plants. 33% of corn is used to make ethanol, over half the soybeans are crushed and much of the soy oil is used for biodiesel. The problem with using biomass like stalks or switchgrass and things like that is the cost of trucking the bulk quantities that have to be hauled to the plants.
 
Having grown up around logging and protests from tree huggers and bunk about 'old growth forests' it has been refreshing to hear about trees being a carbon heat sink.....and can even be used to build houses.
 
Did you all know that the first cars ran on alcohol, which is a very clean fuel. And alcohol can be made at home easily. But what changed that use. Standard oil John Rockefeller had to get gasoline use up, after his kerosene market fell.
Along comes prohibition at that exact moment. No more alcohol for any use, being funded by Rockefeller. Then he captures the gasoline market just when cars were being mass produced.

New regrowth also sequesters more carbon from the atmosphere than old growth does

or...it provides 30% less energy per gallon and is impractical to produce at scales required to meet just US demand. Gasoline was just a by-product of other refining processes. If Rockefeller hadn't done it...someone else would've.
 
Ever heard of bathtub gin, could be produced enough, you Standard oil lackey. Doesn't dirty the engine either, i'll take the less efficiency. And the old gas had lead in it to stop the pinging. All the lead going out the exhaust pipe into the environment, i would take the less efficiency in term of the lead hazard done to everyone.
Rockefeller was able to kill any alternatives at the time. Someone else couldn't have done the nuclear destruction of alternatives that fast and so efficiently.
