Joining these forums has been a good thing for me
It has opened my eyes so I can REALLY see.
But this daily reading these posts all around
Has started to really get me down.

Then today lets put the icing on the cake -HEY
My ‘friend’ the MB just recently got approved for FHA
I am told just now they will never use me…because
I am told point blank - "you are too picky."

THEN the cherry … the last straw.. I’m feeling quite faint
Another FHA…MB says REMOVE the part about the peeling PAINT.
He says he heard FHA does not care - oh and please
Don’t tell em it is Asbestos siding now take that off there.

FHA CRAPPY DAY for C in VA

They have opened the flood gates for Skippies and unscrupuloud lenders. I don't know how they are going to keep up with the onslaught of bad loans heading their way. This is from the same bunch that brought you FEMA, and the VA. I can hardly wait until they socialize health care.

He's right FHA doesn't care about the paint or the Asbestos siding and is quite happy to accept the property, AS LONG AS THE APPRAISER DISCLOSES IT.

no matter.. I finally blew and wrote directly to the 'horses mouth'. Depending on their answer (ha ha - will most likely never hear from them) I am considering having my name just removed from the FHA approved list. If they embark to do business with mortgage professionals who refuse to use me because I am too picky or mention 'things' then I mite as well. They obviously have a plethora of other appraisers who will do the job. This is so unfair.:fiddle:

Poosibility of lead based paint. Health hazard. Also, peeling paint can lead to structural failure. He is NOT right!

From what I am seeing and hearing in the area I cover, Skippy has found a new home it called FHA.

We seen it coming the last four years in the sub-prime, some are now seeing it in FHA. Do you think anyone gives a hoot yet. Not untill the house of cards fall. When that happens they will print more dollars to cover the lost.

I myself think it is happening daily now. The good appraisers will soon be on the side lines and skip will rule the world of FHA appraisal as they did in the sub-prime markets.

Because FHA/HUD relaxed most of their regulations and let the skippies take over I have not received an FHA order in the past month. I have been told also by underwriters that I am too picky, but i'm just stating what I observed when inspecting the property.

Sounds like it is time to contact your local HUD Office and let them know what is happening.

I have, maybe, just maybe they will listen, if they start hearing it from all over the country.

Remember, best to get some of those requests in writing, then you can forward them to HUD.

Better yet, why not call the FHA help line? Oh sure, you won't get to talk to anyone and you'll only have a 14 second window in which to state your concerns on a voicemail system. But, hey, they really want to hear what you have to say.....speak quickly!

The fact is, they don't want to hear what you have to say. They don't care. They know what they're doing. They're doing exactly what they've been told to do by our leaders and their regulators. The American people are being raped once again. Get over it.

If you wrote about the asbestos siding on page 3, remove it. Talk about it in the addendum (not at the end but somewhere in the middle), and misspell the word "asbestos."

The in-house reviewer with his simple checklist and search tool might not find it. In the mean time, go pick a new client...
