Fiberglass Tape Recommendation(?)

I really have liked this one. It has 1/10 of an inch on the back and the teeth on it hold well. The others I've used kept falling off the wall.

OP, You can always measure to the nearest inch and then convert it to tenths.
Or, take your measurement on the inch side of your tape and and then look at the other side of the tape expressed in tenths (after taking the measurement).

FWI I mainly use a laser but I do have a Dewalt 100ft metal tape that I use in certain instances or as a backup. I don't like crawling behind bushes and shrubs which inevitably happens when using the tape.

I use this also. Great
Used one for 20 years and it never broke but lost so much of its stiffness it would roll over between the rollers and jam. So I bought a new one- plus I used a disto for years - old but works well. My fav laser is the Bosch with the little camera screen and cross hairs... It will "see" the target when it is invisible in the Disto.

I used both a tape and the Mosure system. If people are interested I'll writeup a review. Not the only measuring tool to bring to a site, but when it can be used saves huge amounts of time.

I reinforce 100 ft fiberglass on the end. I wear them out. I reinforce the very end with duct tape or glue and drywall mesh to keep end from breaking off. I have 25 ft steel tape I use for short measurements. I carry laser too for inside measurements upstairs and garages or whatever.
Good idea. I should reinforce then ahead of them. When mine breaks, I stable or add tape to the fiberglass. Not sure if I lose 1/10 of foot. Otherwise I buy a new one. I keep the old ones as emergency when I forget where my regular ones are at.

There is a reason that the Adir is cheaper they don’t last. I do not recommend it.
The only down side I can see to that big hook is shrubs, but that is a problem anyway. Just back out away from shrubs and reel it up. Start over.

But your not measuring short distance on the area of tape that you reinforce and cover up with tape or whatever you use to reinforce it.. Like where the hook is. The down side to that is it won't reel all the way back in the reel. That's okay with me. It makes a cheap one last longer. If you reinforce the hook connection a couple inches on the tape, it won't reel that 2 inches back in reel.

are you talking about the home owner of your last appraisal?
When I first started appraising, my boss told me my tape is a weapon... stick it into a crazy dog mouth.
Never encounter such a situation. If I did, I'll run away and jump into my car.
