Actually, no. These would be newly constructed homes in the $200,000-$400,000 tract subdivisions that are currently being built out in our area. One developer installed security cameras throughout the subdivision with signs everywhere saying "SMILE, YOU ARE ON CAMERA!"

I have no idea man, I just know it happens, people don't care, they'll steal anything, even with cameras around.
