So far so good, was able to use it on 2 inspections today, was an awesome addition esp since im on crutches after surgery for 6wks. Still working on getting it totally synced and working with my Note 4 but that will come soon when i have more time to play with it. Even without it being paired its very efficient. My question is for anyone who has the Disto, theres not a ton of useful Total and Disto videos or tutorials out there that i have found. Are there any helpful links or sources of info that you all have found that made the change easier or opened you up to more effective tools within the functions of the Disto? Just curious, im techy and will find my way for sure on my own, but interested to see if anyone has anything they found that helped the learning curve. TIA everyone, have a great weekend. BTW i have the D330i since i use the samsung note.

Did you get the infared glasses that let you see the red laser light in bright sunlight?

Guess in Illinois you do not have the bright sunshine as we have here, which makes the disto laser difficult to see over long distances. Maybe too you don't have long distances to measure, as in 300' walls that we encounter here. lol

Really, though, welcome to disto world. I am sure you will adapt, and see its many applications to the appraisal inspection world.

BTW, vision is 20/20, atleast that is what I am believing and seeing from those eye vision charts. :)

it was actually later in the day so not much sun out still. we do have the bright sunshine! less and less tho, the 6pm inspections and even later are coming to an end im afraid. thanks for the welcome, it was a great pickup esp since im on one leg for 6wks and luggin a tape around is not an option and helpers are few and far btw. i already am incredibly happy with the switch. no 300' walls here i just do residential. i did a big craftsman two story brick with a complicated upstairs and the laser made doing the sketch super easy. cheers!

Ahh, the so called Nerd goggles. I used them for many years until my eyes became overly sensitive to contact lenses. It was impractical to wear them over my prescription glasses so I had to force myself to learn to use the built-in eye piece viewer instead.
So now I'm goggle free.......and I do better with the ladies. :dancefool: :rof:

Welcome to the 90's! No manual needed, just point and shoot. Make sure you wrap some tape around the bridge of the red glasses, makes them official.

My first Disto was the original brick. How many of you remember that one? I still have it in a box somewhere.

Still have mine, been dropped a few times, but works. Will sell it for 25 bucks plus postage. Batteries included.

Mine is older than that. It has a view finder in it to see those long shots. It is also grey.
