I've been using the FEMA site for all my flood map information. Been using it for years. Now they have updated the maps and there is no way to view them. Who and what are you using for flood map certs.? I've heard that FEMA does not know when the view option will be available for the new maps. Great....

You can either view or buy. If you view it does take awhile for the tif file to open, then you can put the microscope icon on the section you want to enlarge, again that does take awhile since it is a tif file. I have bought some of the maps to download to my computer--and on my computer it takes as long as the website or maybe even longer. Both of my two counties have all new flood maps in September of 2007--so I needed a new source instead of my paper maps from 1982. Private reporting services like Realquest and Win2Data still have the 1982 maps quite frequently.

Here is another link to an area on their site. I just plug in the address and it gives me the panel information. You can create a "firmette" fairly quickly too.
Hope this helps.

Jo Ann,

They have 2008 maps online now and there is no option to view. This is something that has just happened to the site in the last few days. Like I said earlier I have been using their info for years.

Thanks
Steve

Many of the new maps are under "Protest" by various groups & some groups have won (See Casa Grade AZ Mission Valley) & many maps have to be redone this MIGHT be why they are not available at this time.

I have been putting what info I can in & not put in maps & say a specialist needs to be consulted IF there are any questions. Has worked so far. After all Borrowers are paying $15 to $25 for flood cert!! Might well pass the liability on to someone else since there is a fight going on as to; you are or are not in a flood zone. Some have changed as much as 3 times here in AZ.

Must be a regional thing. You had me worried until I went and was able to see what I needed.

Stone,

Yes it might be. Maps are dated 3/08/2008 and cannot be viewed.

I just made one using the FEMA web site. use this link and put the address in and follow the directions itf that is still giving you an issue then once you get the map up print it to PDF ( Adobe or the like) . I also use Interflood (alamode.com)

FEMA

I justed called FEMA and told them I could not view a map for a property. They said they did not have a date as to when you would be able to view certain maps online. I asked are there other sources that could view the new maps? She said no, if we don't have it online nobody has it.
