LOL, thanks,,,

how is business in Florida? Are you busy?

dead. very dead.

do you need to be a florida resident to obtain a license? and if you took the certified exam within the past two years, will you have to retake the exam? i'm planning on moving to florida in about 3 years, but was wondering if i should start the process now.

No. Start the process of moving to NC, KY or TN now - much better quality of life.

What application is needed to get a license approved from another state. I passed the national exam back in Jan, 09 and want to get approved before the 24 months goes by. Sure don't want to have to take that exam again.

The application is determined by whatever state you are interested in. By the way, so is the requirements to obtain a license. Not all states recognize certification in another state as part of their licensing process

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I am interested in getting a Floridia cert. By reading their new changes it seems that as long my state is AQB recognized then Florida will accept it. I just passed the national exam in Jan 09, so my understanding is I need to take the Florida Supplemental exam only. Btw, I lived in Fort Lauderdale for 17 years and am looking to go back. Thanks.

I think Georgia has reciprocity with Florida.
If that is (still) the case, I'd go for the Georgia license and then get a reciprocal one with FL that way.
Them peoples in Tallahassee is cwazy

I am in the process of obtaining my Florida certification myself. I am certified in New Jersey and took the new exam February '08. It is my understanding that if you took the new exam within the past two years, you do not need to retake it. I'll just have to take the Florida law class. I'm waiting for the status on the December class for that. They might push it to January. They are waiting for the new material to be approved by the state. You will have to get your fingerprints redone also. So far, I have not had any problems...The application and instructions are on the web page and they have a phone number you can call with any questions. Good Luck.
