I view this product as step in the right direction. While not perfect, we as an "industry" need a standardized product that will compete with BPOs and other portfolio analysis products near the costs that are there. I have one community bank on my wish list (marketing) that only uses BPOs for all REO management. Every 90 days he is odering BPOs on 80 properties +/-. Bad decision..... sure but it's a monetary decision and until I provide a product to compete with the current product I am just a familiar face that stops in every few weeks.

Then do it NOW. They aren't looking for a "standardized product." If they were, they wouldn't be ordering BPOs. They are looking for cheap and fast. they aren't even loooking for GOOD.

You can do this now, be compliant, and compete without ANYONE'S help. If they cared about standardization, they wouldn't be getting half-assed non-standardized BPOs now!

But, again if you INSIST it must be standardized before you compete, look at some of the organizations (one of which i mentioned earler) who are providing this standardization ON YOUR BEHALF and not to line their own pockets at YOUR EXPENSE.
