Freddie Mac vs Appraiser Bias

What level of color would it take to meet your approval? I'm kind of swarthy looking due to most of my people originating east of Calais. My guess is eventually Fannie/Freddie/HUD/Alphabet soup inc. will soon have a box for us to check for that, maybe I can press "Alt" on the keyboard and hit 2 boxes........sort of like an ACI override code.
I don't have to approve the sixties, it was before my time, I'm not considered a person of color either although my great great grandma was a full blooded Chickasaw Indian, and I'm "olive toned" myself. It was just an observation from me viewing the old timey photo, like the Virginia Slims cigarette ad I saw growing up, "you've come a long way, baby" and so we have. No offense to any "senior partners" was intended, Sir William.

You seem to have significant opinions about the topic of appraiser diversity. Do you believe being a woman adds to the credibility of your work when appraising women-owned properties? Do you believe men discriminate against female property owners?

nothing to add so I deleted it

My daughters think the old Virginia Slims ads were offensive and degrading even though it was before they were born, they practically blame me for anything offensive during that era. :) Woe is me.

I imagine a lot of bitter middle aged women have a biases against men in their valuations. It's simply impossible to not be if your a man hater. You know it's systemic when photos and advertisements from 60 years ago are a trigger. That ship sailed in about 1975 when I entered college.

Here's an anecdote: of all the "bad" SFR appraisals (lying cheating stealing) I've ever reviewed none of them ever involved a female appraiser. I make referrals to SFR appraisers on the regular, and I don't refer people to just anyone. Of the 6 SFR appraisers I refer people to, 3 of them are females. Matter of fact I've shamelessly appropriated a couple things I do from what I saw one of them doing in their SFR reports.

my experience only

There was one woman in my freshman engineering class. There were no women in my first college appraisal class or my first AI class. Does that doom me to bias?

Had the opportunity to work with a few ladies over the years and one was even my boss. All were very good in regard to appraising (they knew their stuff), all had a background in Real Estate, and if I may say so, could give everyone here a run for their money.
IMO - it's was an opportunity time; some took it with great pride some others were casual about it. Most moved on when the times began to change, and we only got short money for the work required.
