Freddie Mac vs Appraiser Bias

There was one woman in my freshman engineering class. There were no women in my first college appraisal class or my first AI class. Does that doom me to bias?
My wife is a retired Electronic Engineer She and two others in her department at major Califofnia Aero Space company. No issues she said very few women had any interest in it. My daughter is a Engineer in hydrology but quit her job to raise her children. The fact is few women ever wanted or want to be appraisers. My daughter had no interest in it. The same with most young people today they want real jobs with benefits and a regular pay check.

My bank while I was there had one woman hiree. She didn't last that long there. She went back to work for her father.
Anyway, I never considered my children to be appraisers. Unless they like real estate, there are better ways to earn a living especially in health field and technology.

Interesting Statistics Women in Engineering

  • There are over 192,270 engineers currently employed in the United States.
  • 13.7% of all engineers are women, while 86.3% are men.

What percent of women make up the Healthcare

End of interactive chart. In 2021, 16.4 million women were employed in the health care and social assistance industry. This was 77.6 percent of the total 21.2 million workers in the industry.Mar 7, 2022

Also, when I go on my Cigna insurance, I can pick my doctor female or male, ethnicity, language spoken, board certified, etc. How is that not discrimatory, I'm seriously just wondering

How's your sewing? I excelled at the cooking, but sewing? No. My mom helped me with my final project, and she sewed all our clothes growing up. I cant sew at all. In 9th grade, you had to pass it to graduate for high school. Funny. My husband sews better than I do, still. I sill remember the chocolate and biscuits my friends and I made for breakfast, Red Bay, Alabama!

No I do not sew by the time I was in HS cheap clothes were flooding in from Asian country's. I do all the cooking at home. I did learn to type on old machines and later IBM selectricts. Not fast .I still have 9 in my warehouse. Why I guess it's like classic cars.

No, no more than one of my best friends was the only girl in the Vo-Tech drafting class in my High School. All the guys in her class gave her hell, She is now an architect, (which the Ted Mosby in me respects) whereas many of them never graduated at all. I don't think we can help who signs up for classes except for maybe the extermination of the profession, maybe just don't support those in favor of "third party inspectors", "Desktop Appraisals" for GSE AVMs and what have you, but that's just me. I've been the only female in several advanced classes. It's not a popular career for women and I dont need to get into why as it is obvious. The only reason I got into it at all is because I saw the money to be made, which is why anyone chooses a career. If not, why do you do it?

I imagine a lot of bitter middle aged women have a biases against men in their valuations. It's simply impossible to not be if your a man hater. You know it's systemic when photos and advertisements from 60 years ago are a trigger. That ship sailed in about 1975 when I entered college.
I wonder if the same holds true for grumpy old men appraisers that hate women, are you biased in your valuations, lol
