I was listening to the Crawford Report (Phil) on Podcast this morning, and he said "Freedom" appraisal software is going to be unveiled at AppraiserFest. Said it's already integrated with Anow, and is completely cloud based...

I can't find anything about it anywhere. No announcements... Nothing...

Does anybody have info about this?

Hope this help. I signed up for updates months ago and have never heard anything. I am anxious to learn more as well. Best of luck! I did trade a couple of texts with the owner and he did say it should be unveiled at Appraiserfest coming up.

It frees $89/Mo. of your money. No thankee.

I am not an advocate for or against Freedom Appraise, however, I believe the $89 a month is the top tier with everything included and that they have lesser plans of $69 and $49 per month, obviously with less bells and whistles. Their price does compare favorably to alamode's premium package, but I understand it may be considerably more than other plans and software providers. Best of luck to you!

I can buy 12 copies of Word Perfect....build my own templates into a nice narrative report.

I pay $350 per year for alamode. $350 ÷ 12 = $29 per month.

i agree. i don't pay anywhere near their pricing, and quite frankly see no need to do so, especially for web-based software that isn't even installed on my machine. saw this on their site:

All inclusive pricing $89 per month per appraiser, includes the following:
One (1) Assistant Free
Trainees Free 1st Year

since alamode was the example i quoted i'll use them,. though i haven't personally in over 5 years. so this new company is charging roughly 3 times what alamode does, only allows one assistant and one trainee for a year without additional fees? things may have changed but even alamode isn't that greedy and allows more than one appraiser per license. alamode software is packed with features, so i believe it would be a hard thing to offer enough items that they don't to accept paying 3 times as much per year for nothing on your computer when the day is done. when i was using alamode we had 3 appraisers in the office, so for the same $350 we were paying it would cost us over $3,200. that's a hefty price considering what is already available.

-edit-

just saw this on the site:

New Version of Existing Software Available for Years

what existing software is this replacing? does anyone know? the only one i am aware of that no longer is active is NCV.

Thank you so much for the information Robert. Really appreciate that...

As far as the pricing, abilities, etc., I don't want to judge anything until I've seen something more. But my annual fee to Alamode dwarfs $29 per month. (Granted, I've got all the bells and whistles and my firm uses it in a networking environment..)

I'm getting really suspicious of Alamode since the buy out. This last scheme of wanting to charge me to open my comp information for other appraisers to glean, just about cleans my clock... I want to see alternatives just in case.

I wish anyone starting a new formsware company luck. The economics of that business are tough, especially given the mindset of many appraisers. The total potential customer base is very small, especially given the capital required for startup. And, when it comes to software (and CE) price is a MAJOR consideration for many (most?). It is a tough game to enter as a new player.
