Some seem to be arguing against competition... Competition is good... it's the "mercan" way! "#%&!* Corlogic"

Dang - The pain just keeps getting worse...

Just found out from an email from Alamode (and I quote) -

"***Since very few customers used the TOTAL Server License and it caused confusion for others, it's no longer included in the Elite bundle. To that end, if you actively use your TOTAL Server License, it will be automatically renewed as an additional product outside of your Elite bundle. Please call if you have questions.***"

Well, I'm one of the "very few". And they replaced the Server License with Titan Analytics in the Elite Package, which is absolutely useless to my team. The Server license is going to be an additional $299 per year on top of the Elite package now....

So - My renewal fee, as is quoted with the server license, is going up over 20%. I'm NOT a happy camper.....

I have an old version of alamode on an old computer that will open the ZAP and have used it when the main computer's (windows in a virtual box) went down. The balance of the linux system worked, so I still had access to the HD file copies were stored on. I think it was the tablet version.

Also looking at alternatives. I use the silver package without all the extras. A lot of the extras are still available on other free sites, flood maps, etc. SFREP and homeputer are possibilities. Homeputer may not have some of the stuff I use. Since recently I reuse little from appraisal to appraisal the need to read/copy from all the old reports is less important. I need to save comments and common responses to doc formats so they can be used in narratives also. If it was not for banks wanting reports in 1004 (& UAD) formats and AMC's wanting xml or other extensions I would prefer to use a narrative report.

they started charging for networking shortly before i quit using their software. it wasn't the main reason i ditched them but it was definitely in the top 5.

What did you replace them with?

Just signing up to get more info on Freedom Appraisal.

I was very excited about this initially, but the silence from them deafening. I signed up on their website for more information but I never got anything back. Not even a thank you for signing up confirmation. I think I have signed up 3 times now. I'm still trying to figure out if its legit or some scam to get appraiser emails. So it would be good to see if this is real or just vapor ware. My trust in the company is pretty low before they have even started.

Similar to Reggora....
I inquired about something and never received a response....

Two appraisers - two assistants. All use Total....

My fee runs around $2,200+/- annually after their self appointed discounts at renewal. Network server license, flood maps, vault, Data Courier, Estimator, xSite, all plugins, Comps Database, Elite 24/7 tech support, etc.

My whole firm is on Total, and it is what it is.

The biggest thing making it difficult to replace is that everything about the report, including the work files, are saved to the ZAP folders. Have to use Total to access them, which really creates a lot of barriers to change.

Maybe you can try the $350 per year package plus the $300 server license and see how that works out. I think the $350 option works fine for most people.

In the treacherous cutthroat software environments, especially these days, it’s really not a bad idea for a developer to keep information close to their chest until ready to roll it onstage.

Guessing gonna have to wait until Appraiserfest. I think, the name, Freedom was well chosen
