I'm planning ahead. If I get Social Security when I turn 62, can I continue doing appraisal work?
For those who retired, is there a limit in earned income before it's detrimental.

Just stay in your condo and hide.....that's the best policy.

I like to collect the free money (SS) and still earn money. Is that possible?
You can earn all you want but, for every two over a threshold you get one deducted from your SS check. At full retirement age, sounds like 67 for you, you get the extra tax credited back to your account. After full retirement you can only earn set amount, depends on how you file taxes, before you get taxed on SS. There are publications you can find and read. “Google” it……

Do you know what is the threshold?

I am not ready to retire. But I have heard several people on this forum say once they reached medicare age, their health insurance costs decreased like 75% for what they were paying in private health insurance. They were buying the add on supplements too once they reached medicare age.

Healthcare is a rip off in America.

I wish I could get medicare today.

Threshold is, do you have enough? Then retire because time > money.
You define what is enough. Some people will never get enough.
Sucks to be them.

I think you get medicare when 65. Saves lot of money on health care.
A benefit for being old. Still I rather give a million dollar to get back 10 years younger.
