Corporate Efficiency Is Getting Absurd

U.S. corporate profits and efficiency are getting absurd.

On Friday we saw record quarterly profits of $1,450 billion, making up a record share of GDP at 10.1%. We're also at record corporate efficiency of $15,278.72 -- up 22.3% from last year -- according to Sageworks Inc.


That last one says it all. Rampant job cuts and salary cuts, with new responsibilities for old workers, during the recession turned corporations into profit-making machines. Stimulative policies from the government and the Federal Reserve helped plenty. New technology also helps with efficiency.

Unfortunately, there are no signs that corporations are turning revenue into jobs.

Warren Buffet investors just bought 5 billion dollars in B of A ........ I heard that B of A is about to get bailed out again by the FEDS .......

.... they say that Buffet has the inside scoup ..... lots of bad loans ........ too big to fail ..

... Buffet gets to pick the bank that will get bailed out ..... while smaller banks will get gobbled up because of the same shinanigans ....

CERN Scientists: Climate Change Caused by Sun

The new findings point to cosmic rays and the sun — not human activities — as the dominant controller of climate on Earth.

The research, published with little fanfare this week in the prestigious journal Nature, comes from über-prestigious CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, one of the world’s largest centres for scientific research involving 60 countries and 8,000 scientists at more than 600 universities and national laboratories.

In this chamber, 63 CERN scientists from 17 European and American institutes have done what global warming doomsayers said could never be done — demonstrate that cosmic rays promote the formation of molecules that in Earth’s atmosphere can grow and seed clouds, the cloudier and thus cooler it will be. Because the sun’s magnetic field controls how many cosmic rays reach Earth’s atmosphere (the stronger the sun’s magnetic field, the more it shields Earth from incoming cosmic rays from space), the sun determines the temperature on Earth.

Will be interesting to see what the Climate Change Hysterians will claim now...This is a huge threat to their funding. Look for an all out assault and you can bet they won't be putting their fears in emails to avoid the embarassment of another "climategate" fiasco.

Illinois Loses Most Jobs in the Nation

According to the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report, Illinois lost 7,200 jobs in June, and lost an additional 24,900 non-farm payroll jobs in July. Lawmakers passed record tax increases in January of this year. Since then, Illinois’s employment numbers have done nothing but decline. Since January, Illinois has dropped 89,000 people from its employment rolls.

Taxes do matter.
