Based on Friday and overnight Sunday, it looks like I'll be short @ the open. (very low volume heading into the open, longs be careful)

It will be tough, because the fund mangers are going to want to get in if they missed the rally. But the longer the cracks begin to show up for Europe it could spook the fund managers and begin to trickle down. That explains the low volume.

DTB....what do u typically buy or sell if u are going short at the open? I bought some SDS friday near the bottom, near the close.

I think he trades futures, as do I. Those start trading at 6:00 PM on Sunday evening. ESZ11 The symbol for the S&P 500 futures opened at 1280 on Sun. By the open today at 9:30 they were already down to 1272, which is $50x8=$400 per contact.

so does that mean selling 1 contract today at 1280 would provide a return of approximately $1700 today (34 x 50)

Rarley trade in the pre market or ah. Mostly price action in stocks in play, futures and some options.
