..... the "RUPTURE"
Interesting poem, do you perform this type of poetry?
I don't look at the Government as the source of evil, but that the government, made of people, is weak unless there is enough accountability and oversight in place (working and effective regulation).
I see most of our problems as arising out of only one thing. When corporate power and their connections in Washington grew to the point that they were able to thwart antitrust laws that limited the power and size of companies, the entire power balance began to fail, like a dam cracking and breaking open. These massive corporations now overpower the people in our government, corrupt them with money and influence. When almost everyone around you is corrupt, it is much harder to be rigtheous and do the right thing, since it will almost inevitablly end in failure and being punished politically.
If we can restore the balance that should exist between the government, corporations (and our business community) and the people our government is supposed to represent, then our political system will become effective again, the political leaders will be less polarized and move a bit more to center and have more political overlap, which will then lead to constructive negotation.
Maybe you see this as different, but it is too easy to blame the "government". The fact is, right now we have too little government by the people and for the interests of the Republic and too much government under the strings of the the mega-corporations.
We can't have innovation, competitive and constructive dynamic markets nor a innovative, effective and constructive government when there is the massive power of mega-corps dominating and distorting and crushing these factors that made us a great country.
