Going to take the AQB USPAP Course

What kind of questions do they ask? How does one get tripped up?
Is the instructor test fair, or is it one of those gov't type test designed
to trip you up?

A lot of semantics, you have to know USPAP in every direction to even get into the class. The trick then is to find all the relationships between standards, SOW, ethics, etc. The test basically requires you to know what everything means, in fact I spent more time reading the definitions and glossary. I know Serena spent a lot of time reading the FAQ section, you just have to know it.

You Guys/Gals are great

Thanks for the encouragement. I just got in the office from a morning out in the field, and I always check email for orders etc. The next thing on the list is to sign up for the re-take.

And yes I am shaken by the failing grade, I had studied so hard and got an 80% on the quiz which was given at the very beginning of the class. So when you add to your original preparation, the class time, and additional studying, and then test prep, and then the "Good Vibes when I left the test, I was comfortable that I had done a good job and had passed.

Oh well, Nixon made a come back so can I

Regards to all

Hal

You'll nail it next time.

And for all you clowns that passed, don't think for a minute you're a better appraiser than those licensed guys.

oops, wrong thread.

Still waiting for results - I expect the mail takes more time to reach Canada- anxious times!! Congratulations to all who passed and for those who don't, from my experience, I have a better understanding of many topics when I had to retake the exam than some of the ones I passed first go - that is looking at the half full glass.

Talked to the two from Kaplan who went to Dallas, both passed. Guess I am now out of a job. LOL.

Results arrived today and I passed !! phew what a relief - didn't fancy another long trip to Washington DC or wherever the retake is.

Congrats Angus. I guess I can't be setting myself up in Canada now, eh? ;)

Hope all of you will enjoy teaching. I have really enjoyed it and have never done anything as hard. It will wear you out to stand up for 7-8 hours, keep
everyone's attention and make the class as enjoyable as possible. You will be amazed at how much the average appraisers think they know about USPAP and how little they really know. The misconceptions are pretty funny sometimes about what "USPAP says".

Good luck to all of you.
