]Why...[/COLOR] I ask WHY... are they then allowed to do this? Can not the local appraisal licencing board call them to the carpet. IF COMP checks are indeed Mortgage Fraud and these people are ADVERTISING this fraud how come this is still going on. I suppose it is like Kiddie **** but from my hours of Law and Order studies..those sites are well hidden. These are easy as a google!

That is a mighty big IF you have there. Comparing them to kiddie **** is a bit much, but then again it works well as an example. Just as comp checks are not necessarily against the rules, not all pictures of children with little or no clothing are ****ographic.

I am of the belief that comp check are perpetrating mortgage fraud. They allow the 'asker' to even if only once get a feel for the outcome. The asker (commission driven in mtg fraud cases) is looking to make his big bucks and must find a way to make it work (unless we have an honest asker in which case maybe he will not try and push it through). If he is not honest..a majority....he will ask again.. in some cases saying... "another appraiser said only X.. i need x+5 and it is yours." Deal will get done and It is the x+5 right there mortgage fraud... comps check perpetrate mortgage fraud. Just my opinion.
Kid **** just example... MOST illegal websites would be hidden or locked I would suppose... these are just hanging out there in the wind..TONS of them!

So the alamode sample shows adjusted values of 157,000 - 157,000 and 156,000 if memory serves and the final reconciled value for the subject was $170,000. I wonder if that would raise any red flags.
