I've talked to that kid, he's not serious nor is he an appraiser.
It appears he has developed a framework for empty promises, but any substance is unapparent.
That's the stategy to get funded by ycombinator
No surprise, the guy who is or was the head of one of the appraisal alphabet soup organizations never held an appraisal license, but to discuss it was considered heresy by the notable’s lackeys.
I can't speak to any shortage of appraisers BUT I am trying to slow down and therefore am accepting fewer jobs. In trying to fool the algorithm rather than declining the jobs I just bid or offer stupid fees. To my very pleasant surprise they are accepting many of them. Do with that info what you please
One of the many reasons the profession is in the gutter is because of this logic. "I'll find someone desperate, pay them nothing, and let them deal with it."
That could end up being an entertaining video game for us when it gets close to the 3.6 deadline, and it could end up being profitable if it's played skillfully.
