I don't think you understand how deep these new software systems are getting into the process. They aren't simply promising saving typing time. They are promising automation, or near automation of the entire process, from adjusting comps to writing comments after using AI to inspect photos and rate the subject and comps. "The function of appraisal software programs" is not being envisions as a computerized typewriter in the current iteration. It seems to me that people are confusing systems like Data Master, or Aivre, etc., products that can pull data from public records and MLS, and then autopopulate the data or create charts, graphs, etc., with software appraisers use for reporting UAD 3.6, such as Alamode and ACI ( Clickforms, etc., offer.
I do not believe that UAD 3.6 requires appraisers to use a data product - ( that is optional ) Appraisers do need to report the apprasial for UAD 3.6 as a printable and sendable form, which is the function of appraisal software programs.
