Greg, from the looks of your Avatar, you may want to consider some dental insurance, as well!! :rof:

Okay, I'll ask again without a quote above:

When getting in on a group rate deal, are physicals required like with individual policies?

For those of you on a group plan, what's the procedure. Do you just sign up and that's it, or do they require a physical before they'll insure you?

I am 99% sure that any group policy will require a physical. They usually send an RN to your house, who takes a history, vitals, and blood.

The OREP Kaiser plan for Californians does NOT exclude pre-existing conditions, and no physical is required.

Thanks guys. I've had individual plans before where the nurse comes out to take vitals. But with "real" jobs where I was an employee on the company plan, I've just signed up and that was it.

Go with NASE, national association of the self employed. Just got off a high risk plan due to some past illnesses. They are saving me 350 a month. Great policy coverage.

Got a website Doug?

Never mind. Found it. States it will take up to 48 hours to get a quote.
