Don, ya'll took the Memphis tigers football coach and I an not exactly happy about that though. But, we got another good one I think. Ya'll got one of the best young coaches in the country in my opinion. Virginia Tech will be tough in football. It will be wide open on offense and he will be able to do a little better in recruiting there than he could in Memphis.

We have some really great Colleges and Universities in this state. I have a special affinity for the University of Virginia. i took some specialized real estate education there several years ago. My son is a graduate of Old Dominion, BS in Geology & Masters in Education. They finally have a football team. I do not personally follow sports at that level but hope they all do well.

I respect you a bunch. I appreciate you reaching out to the lady. I'm sure Virginia is not the only state that will experience this before it is over. Or should I say VA is not the only state who has experienced this. I doubt it.

I can see possible scenarios where a person was sick or a funeral or something in other states. I can also see it skewing 2015 numbers. I hope they include them in 2014 numbers if they allow the license.

I guess if the license has already been issued, then it is included in 2014 numbers and won't be included in 2015 numbers........No?

Idk, but I don't want 2015 numbers skewed. If they are, then I would like to know. That is the reason I would like a month by month disclosure of new licenses by state and county/township and city. I would like more numbers like in state licensees and out of state licensees, etc, and on a national basis.

I would like a monthly email of such.

I think Justin Fuente (Memphis) is going to VA Tech, UVA hired Bronco Mendenhall from BYU. Looking forward to this fall, UVA is about 1 hr away :)

Btw, Don, I looked through the ASB rules for the changes effective 1/1/2015 and I did not see anything specific as to WHEN the test was to be taken. It only requires that the education and experience requirements were to be met PRIOR to taking the test. It also talks about a 24 month window when the test could be completed after the education/experience requirements were met for some individuals (military). You would have to assume that this would have meant taking the exam after 1/1/2015. I hope it works out for the OP.

Geology = bad choice, Education = good choice. Good luck. Geology makes you think too much. Education makes for a much steadier career.

He spent 5 years in the Air Force, Captain, Air Weapons Control Officer. Is now a cyber warfare consultant and has a name badge for entry to most government intelligent agencies, the NSA, Pentagon, and the White House.

He tried teaching for 1 year. Hated it since he had no choice in what to teach, how to teach, and faced obnoxious, unruly, disrespectful students every day.

Your son has an impressive resume! That is a shame about your son and teaching, especially if the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Turns out that Don was one of my appraisal instructors at Alpha College and an excellent one at that, definitely the most thorough and knowledgeable teacher I've had. So glad to have a person like him come to my aid. Much respect to you and your son!

Thank you very much:) I had some very good training in the U.S. Navy beginning, long ago with a 2 week assignment to the Health Department in the City of Norfolk,Virginia that taught me the art of interviewing people with contagious diseases, and a follow up Instructor Training at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, California many years later in advanced health care, independent duty qualifications, and the many times I was allowed to teach "Military Style" in the Navy.

I was just making a comparison about the E&O. If we can be liable and sued for faulty information, shouldn't they be liable as well?

I can see your frustration, but imagine if the state was open for problems from every contractor, barber, and nail technician? I'm sure they're definitely not liable, even if they lied.
