This is the plywood on the exterior of a house which I am hoping someone has an answer for me. The FHA says exterior plywood siding painted is okay. T-1-11 is popular but this does not look like exterior plywood which meets acceptable exterior plywood. Minus the obvious paint and finish issues, is this exterior plywood? Can't find something specific which lets me know what to look for in plain old plywood the difference between interior and exterior when in place. SDC11241 - Copy.JPG

You are not likely going to find anything that indicates if its exterior grade unless you can find the stamp from the factory. There is flat sheet plywood that are exterior grade (T-11 is just a flat sheet with grooves cut into it). FWIW, if it isn't exterior grade its done a good job not de-laminating in the time it took that paint to peel.

Agree with Rex,

Most likely CDX as interior plywood does not hold up to dampness well.

Love the synthetic burlap corner guards.

It is hard for me to tell if that is really plywood, or is it a Masonite (Hardboard) product with a grain texture. And if plywood, it is likely exterior grade or it would swell up along the edges and soak water in. Looks like it needs no more than a primer and paint... most likely 2 coats. And the quality level suggests some amateur carpenters at work.

The way it is splitting, looks like interior cheap plywood. However, if you are asking this question, you cannot make an accurate determination (insufficient info). Call for an inspection.

Agree with " Restrain "not a contractor" but have refurbished many homes over the years ** Plywood or Strain Board OSB is not designed for exterior walls or interior finish.

There are numerous exterior plywood products out there that are specifically for exterior walls and interior finishing. A quick google search:
