Homogeneous banned from the appraisal lexicon

I just checked my older boilerplate plagiarized from my mentor and it was in there. It was used in reference to what we DON'T have here....."Homogeneous housing"
Homogenous is the one that pisses me off the most. I get it. They're talking about human characteristics (homogeneous neighborhood = all white, all black, etc) but I'm talking about properties and not people.

I'll figure out a new word and life will go on.

HUD would have to do whole new forms for federally insured transactions. That's fine.

Like I would understand if they said to make sure it is clear that you are talking about the properties being homogeneous. I can see how saying homogeneous neighborhood could be misinterpreted.

I can't tell if it's because they're confusing it with Homogenous or if it's just the fear of the prefix offending someone?

If HUD engaged the appraiser, the ROV would come from HUD. That's fine with me.

There are a lot of weirdos on this thread who don't make much sense, but I rarely have any idea what you're rambling about. Just felt like I should point that out.

Just think. Someone at this outfit has a job that entails deciding if they are offended by something. I wish I had one of those where I work. I'd be in their office all day testing out words and phrases...y'know...to help.

Time to get into reality HUD is not going to start a new rotating fee panel- And the word and label lists have been around for 40 years or more there just adding new words to it :)
