How big are your files?

Hey Biker Babe - good to see you're back posting and even better, appraising. Alamode can downsize those photos and scanned items. Click on the photos tab and the double click on each photo or attachment - then optimize. I include probably 15 to 25 photos in each report with no problem.

I just checked my template. The only image in my template is my certification (man does that feel nice to say). Anyway, my template is 5.12MB Maybe my certification is so special it demands that much space.

Sounds like you might be using Otis's old addendum. His new one comes with one of those key chain memory sticks...

Good thing the 4GB models are now affordable.

8 1/4 x 14. Thickness varies due to complexity. :rof: :rof: :rof:

My reports (pdf) average .8 to about 1.3 mb.

My workfiles, however, range from about 7mb to 16mb as I keep digital workfiles (pdf's of everything). I scan a few items, but not many. Once I get Davinci singing its tunes properly, I will probably rarely (if ever) scan anything.

I have not kept a paper file on a residential appraisal for about 6 months now--with the exception of new construction. I have a paper file with the plans in it and a pdf note to reference the paper file for the plans.

Before I put the workfile data into the Wintotal Digital file, a completed, signed file in Wintotal ranges 1-2mb.

PS... Kate, PM me with what the people at Alamode said. I may be able to help you a little more. Also, the explanation of scans, and photos that have not been optimized is most likely the problem.

We have been doing a lot of ERC reports lately in which we have 15-20 subject photos, 3 listing photos and 3 sale photos at a minimum. We put graphs and lots of narrative stuff too. I don't believe any of these files has ever exceeded 5 MB in size. I agree, you may need to check on your image optizamition settings to reduce the file size to a more manageable level.

Turns out it was a word doc that I must have scanned or downloaded in at one point into my template. Since I never clone reports and exclusively use my template that made all of my reports huge. Now my template is 277KB.woohoo

Thank you everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!:flowers:
