How do you handle granite gourmet kitchen adjustments?

Lee, glad to hear your parent's counters look great! Perhaps the cabinets are of good quality!

My comments referred to what I have seen when appraising, which is, cheap granite slabs dopped on top of older/ dated, or fair condition cabinets (typically in flip houses).

I would imagine granite laid in professionally on older but good quality cabinets could look nice and upgrade the kitchen.

Solid cabinet boxes help, so do new doors and hardware. :icon_lol:

I prefer Shabby Chic myself....since I can't afford anything else and shabby is a very good description of my house.

I have seen professionally refaced cabinets (new doors and hardware and trim) that look pretty good, sometimes as good as new cabinets.
