How does everyone manage their passwords?

I was talking to a retired Silicon Valley exec about 6-months ago and his biggest fear was the 'super computer' race because the country that gets there first will hack all the passwords and will be able to control everything. He wasn't kidding.

Most peoples "mustang1964" type of plain text passwords are already hackable with today's computing power. Which is why I always recommend a non-human readable password generated with a tool like this: https://www.lastpass.com/features/password-generator

Some of my AMCs require me to change password every so months.
I don't understand the need for such security since it's just going into an AMC.
Do hackers really want to see details of my appraisals?

So financial & lending related documents are not sensitive? Don't your clients deserve at least doing business 101 base-level professionalism?

Generally they are after more than that. For example, stealing your identity and forcing you to pay up or they ruin your reputation via impersonation. And if you reuse the same password for all services, now they have the keys to the kingdom.

Rotation is good. Same goes for your home's front door keys.

I got hacked using same password years ago.
Now I have different password for every account. The need to change especially with 2 step verification is added protection. Changing password so often seems to be excessive.

Yeah, I'm starting to like this approach. Thought I worry what would happen if my phone went bye bye.
Before Hacker was able to redirect my landline phone number. Didn't know that was possible.

I struggle with this, having only an old Rolodex with my passwords on it and two premium memberships with LifeLock. I need to move into the 21st century.
