How Many Computers?

Since I cleaned out the computer museum that was growing in my garage, I am down to under 20. I got rid of two 486's, 1 8086, 2 Commodores, 1 Apple IIe and three assorted laptops and an Amiga.

That was a museum.

Got rid of the 8086 10 years ago. But I still liked it.

Desktop, 2 tablets, 3 laptops.
Beatcha. 2 desktops, 2 tablets, 3 laptops. Gave away 4 from my cousins estate to charity for an old folks home. His wife didn't use one, but finally kept an old Vista laptop.

I tend to find homes or uses for old equipment. When I built a new desktop last winter, I gave the old one to my brother. It was 5 years old but still a pretty hot machine. One laptop is for out by the pool, the really old one is a SETI server, and the other I use for a GPS (works great: large screen, easy to see). I used to give my out of service desktops to my kids school, but that was back when the waters ran clear and the deer were plentiful.

All our old stuff has been E wasted. The city has events where you can get rid of that old stuff.
I always remove the hard drives and destroy them separately.
