How much lower is a drive-by appraisal?

joe, You can call & talk to the HO all you want. But, you can't use the info since it must come from a disinterested 3d party. I've always wondered where one is supposed to get that info. Goes against the underlying concept of a drive by if you have to stop & ask the neighbors what the borrower has done to the interior of the house. (& then try to avoid being arrested for checking out the house for criminal intent) LOL.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I need to rephrase my question. :icon_lol:

I would like to have the house appraise for $120,000 and the drive-by came in at $110,000. Is it possible for the full appraisal to come back $10,000 higher and would it be worth spending the extra money to have the full appraisal performed?

Thanks again!

Be it drive by or full there is no promise you'll get that $120,000.
