Hi all, I'm doing a review update on McKissock. May I know how's your overall experience with their appraisal courses? Do you like them? Why and why not? Thanks!

Did the online and live web classes. Online was faster for me.
Been procrastinating since they distract from money making but got the classes done for CE.
I was getting close to license expiration but state agency to my surprise was able to issue my license earlier than usual. :giggle:

Stopped using them when they taught info in the course was dead wrong. Happened twice. Don't ask me what it was. It was several years ago. I called to bring up the fact that the instructor was giving out false info. Their response was the course was old and not updated. Really??? I now use Manfred.

Taken their classes for a while, just because most local in person option's are very limited. Very limited new and interesting CEU, because it's a mandatory cycle requirement to make $$$$$ and limits interest in offering changes.

The driest and worst class I've taken live was a McKissock class on Manufactured homes. It was a page by page regurgitation of the PowerPoint slides printed out.

I've taken their on line classes a couple times. My assistant used to take the classes when she was licensed. They are not a lot better but they serve the purpose. I got a class via OREP when everything shut down last spring and I really liked that class for on line. I hope we are back to live classes before the next cycle. I cannot imagine how dreadful USPAP will be on line.

I just did their online 7 hour USPAP three days ago. I was able to take the final exam at 6 hours which was nice. Some providers wont let you finish until the allotted time has passed. It was a good class, and everything worked well.

One thing that made me cringe (and its not McKissock's fault) ....75% of the class was about the USPAP differences and requirements of a "Restricted" Appraisal Report vs an "Appraisal Report".

I would like to suggest getting rid of the "Restricted" report. It seems very lame and unnecessary. I think an addendum to an Appraisal Report would cover the whole nonsense.

The other 25% of the class (not McKissock's fault) was about lame edits and rewording to the previous 2019 USPAP. To me, it made the whole USPAP thing look unorganized and over-managed.

Glad I'm done for 2 years.

If you order the 2 year package at the right time you can get two renewal cycles for the price of one. Call them up and also ask for a 15% off coupon.

My next renewal cycle only needs USPAP.
Lord willing and the creek don't rise, that will be all she wrote.
But, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
As Mom used to say.
