From what I understand, Freddie Mac to use their HVE for ALL refi's. I think this starts in July. If the HVE does not return a high enough confidence score an appraisal would be ordered by the sellers of the loan.

I got that from the Sr. VP of our Mortgage Division.
 
seems if it were true it would be announced elsewhere? Unless that person has inside track knowledge...that is quite a radical change

I would "guess" they have knowledge of what Freddie Mac does and is planning to do. They sell our loans to Freddie Mac.

Well maybe they just forgot that they got burned by all the AVMs. Some people never learn and are always looking for the cheap way out. The records here are so bad that they would overvalue all sorts of homes. There is no way that this would ever cut it in my market.

That's why they collect the data from appraisals.
