Substantial error is a substantial error.

Do some posters have a different USPAP book?

You need to let go of this paranoia. You will only be held accountable for the errors you made. If the inspector WAS working under your supervision and you were signing for their work then their error would be your problem. But you're no more responsible for an error in a 3rd party inspection report than you are for an error in the title policy or the sales contract.

decide to do them at a price they consider to be acceptable
They are not going to be offered a professional fee just keypunch wages. You act like CRs will actually be negotiating from a position of strength or even level playing field.
It would be a little ironic if they developed forms for the hybrids that were more USPAP connected than the regular GSE forms.
Wanna put money on it?

C'mon now, here's what I actually said:

" With that said, my guess is that there will be appraisers who will decide to do them at a price they consider to be acceptable, and that few if any of them will ever get into trouble over the specified SOW being inadequate. "
I didn't say the appraisers would be happy with those fees, only that they would decide to do those assignments at those fees.

So you admit the scope of the work is inadequate,

now you expect most regulators to be incompetent, and really only sanction a few, if any over it?

Ghee, I wonder "which" few, will be sanctioned.

Not those pushing these as acceptable.

.

That's some really wishful thinking there on your part. I simply refrained from using an absolute.
