If I wanted to be a computer geek I would have gone into that field. I am not a computer programmer nor do I want to be. I resent the fact that in order to deliver a report, I need to ensure that the report has the periods, semi-colons, caps, comments, no comments, etc in the proper place SO THAT A COMPUTER CAN READ IT. I never get any questions about the content of my reports, and there seems to be no concern about credible results More time is wasted on STUPID UAD COMPLIANCE ISSUES than anything else. Just uploaded my first and LAST report to the new Stars website. I have dropped clients in the past that required using the ACI "Hotspot" program and now Stars will not accept PDF reports emailed. That's the end of that. Just needed to vent. Thanks all.m2:

I know...it makes it exasperating!

I agree, i will never get back those extra ten minutes it takes me to do it.

ACI does it all automatically just by typing the info in the correct pop-up window.

All the major software does it automatically...and all of them have built in checkers to make sure you didn't miss anything. Additionally, your software can be set to do some of it either way you want....like with entering 0 in the grid when the feature is different but there's no adjustment.

After a short settle in period, it now doesn't take me longer to do a UAD compliant report than it did to do a traditional one.

Having said all that...Yeah, UAD sucks. Not for the reason you mention, but because it does nothing to make appraisal reports more standard, but gives the illusion that it does. My C3 might be your C4 and unless we are all given training, by the same instructors, using the same sample properties as illustrations, it will never be less ambiguous than the traditional reporting format.

yeah and no allowing for any other characters in certain places - like lot dimensions many times with a large or odd shaped property the space doesn't allow for all of the needed numbers & I use to be able to make a note WITH LETTERS to reference page 3 - but no longer. UGH

And CA R - I soooo feel your pain. Not an IT person and never wanted to be:sad:

Rosey,

Type in all the numbers and shrink the font until it fits in the box. In the header it's the A with a down arrow icon. Then when it fits, click the padlock and lock it in there.

Awesome Marion thanks!

Shrinkage can be so embarrassing though.
