I'm finally Certified

Finally!! I was Licensed in October of '07 and was planning to upgrade early in '08 but it took almost 8 month to do the final 35 appraisals I needed. I'm currently doing fee split with a Gentleman who has been appraising for about 30 years. I'm too chicken to go on my own

Congratulations. You mean too smart to go on your own. The only reason to go out on your own quickly is if you were being supervised by a guy named Skip. :new_all_coholic:

I've been "on my own" since 2001, but I still talk to my mentor at least weekly. Good mentor's are hard to find, in fact I just went with him and his daughter to Disneyland! I just got FHA approved, but know almost zilch about it, lucky for me my mentor has been appraising FHA since they started licensing. There is always something new to learn.

We never stop learning. It is really nice to have someone to lean on from time to time. I wish I had another appraiser that I could trust to handle things for me when I get too busy. Unfortunately, much of my work is for the VA and I have to do it myself. Congrats on the upgrade of your license.
