Geez, are there not several hundred thousand people who could fill those slots and comply with the statue...........with no questions asked.
I seem to remember a thread on this very forum about a vacant slot on the NCAB. Several posters thought you should go for the position and you declined to even try for it. You didn't even try since the seats are all (according to you and for the most part true) bought and paid for.
I assure you that you will not feel so generous if you were to appear before the NCAB and they choose to ignore USPAP or state law as they frequently do.
Isn't this a good reason to have a real estate attorney on the board? Somebody on the board that is skilled in interpreting documents contracts and laws might be able to interpret USPAP.
99% of the emails and phone calls I have received agree that these appointments are wrong. I will just mark you up as one of the minority opinions. You are entitled to you opinion and respect your right to express it.
No, you really don't need to mark my opinion at all. I have stated my opinion. I agree with you about the fact that it does not jive with the exact verbiage of the law. Our volley started with you calling Basnight arrogant. I disagreed. Sorry, I just don't like mudslinging.
I'm really not disagreeing with you on anything other than Basnight being arrogant. Want me to say it again? She is involved in real estate and that is contrary to what the law says. But I will also repeat that it is my opinion that she will make a good board member. I don't think she bought a seat on the real estate appraisal board. I don't think that is in her grand scheme towards world domination. It seems like she has a thriving law practice and serving on the appraisal board likely takes some time away from that.
