Increase in insurance

I called AAA and got a great quote. State Farm even when I'm an existing customer said their company doesn't issue new policies in CA.

I saw electrician today and he said insurance companies want circuit breakers to be updated from certain older brands.
I asked if it's a CA thing and he said yes. Ugh.
Darn CA regulations increasing cost in doing business.

I can't read fernie posts anymore. His crying is smearing the posts. It's a shame, i need a good laugh from the poor rich fernie.

I was fortunate that not many tenant problems bothered me while on vacation.
It's not easy being a landlord especially with increasing costs.

So I disclosed that I had a claim 3 years ago. Maybe I shouldn't but I'm too honest.
My previous given premium went up 45%. WTF.
The rep said it's not about the property but on me personally. WTF!

Well..... you do state on here that you take shortcuts and are cheap on necessary repairs and upgrades. The "actions have consequences" deal....

Maybe forgo your next vacation and use that money to fix all the deferred maintenance on your properties. Maybe you'll receive some good karma for doing such.

You've got to take a look in the mirror when a rep says something like that to you....

Wife said I was stupid in telling the rep about past claim. I feel stupid.

You are incredibly stupid if you think you could have hidden the fact that you had a prior claim 3 years ago.....most major insurers participate in a shared database where they track who files claims and which properties those claims were for. FYI, the database is called CLUES (Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange). Claims records are retained in the CLUES database for 7 years.

Rep even asked if I'd been in the past had cancelled or nonrenewal in my other residential property insurance.
Why is that relevant? And why should I be penalized if insurance company doesn't want to renew.
Always finding excuse to raise the premium.

Never, ever, file a insurance claim in Dsyfunctionville, CA. If you file a claim, it better be for serious reasons, because you are placed in the do not deal with box forevermore.
