Hi. Im interested in moving abroad in the next 5 or so years. I'd like to continue appraising part time. Any suggestions on which countries may be a good option? I'm mostly interested in Europe.

What country ? It's a big world and many will require you to be a citizen. I would narrow it down to a single country as to get licensed in another country could take years.

But i would be talking to people in the Country your moving to because few Americans could direct you other than to call the Appraisal Organizations that have chapters in other Nation's. The AI and Asa have or have chapter's.

Can't really help you other than to repeat... Do the research.

Sounds more like a dream than a reality. Having been to quite a few Nations before even near retirement I definitely knew which ones I would not live in but just taking a vacation to another country is not enough time to know if you could live and work there. My take is if you have to do appraisals in a foreign country you can't afford to retire or live abroad and it may just be reading too many articles on how to retire as a Expat to some cheap paradise. I know none of the developed Nations offer cheap living and part time jobs.

In many other countries the work of valuers is driven by accounting and financial statements, rather than by lending. Hence, International Accounting Standards heavily influence valuation in some countries.

Transplants-w/money change the competition for resources in those host locations. At the expense of the locals. Whether its Park City, Utah or Costa Rica, the more transplants show up the faster their economic leverage declines.

In Mexico having a Notary Public seal is worth more than being a evaluator...lol

As a parallel, the so-called passport bros who seek LTRs with women in these developing nation economies because the women aren't socially adapted to feminism are playing a losing game because their society will eventually catch up. It's already happening in some of the target destinations.

They call it Paradise
I don't know why
You call someplace paradise
Kiss it goodbye

I would focus on familiarizing myself with these two organizations. Disregard the Appraisal Institute as it carries little weight. It's important to highlight that the RICS requires its surveyors to be licensed in order to produce a home survey report. This contrasts sharply with the situation here, where, in some instances, GSEs and AMCs employ individuals with questionable backgrounds—such as convicted armed robbers or illegal alien Uber drivers—conducting the inspections."

Yeah I forgot RICS is big internationally and one can also be A member in the U.S. and may be a good starting point.
