Intimidation....I Will Not Be Silenced

Maybe someone at one of these AMCs took personal offense at the use of that hyperbole.
But if Solidifi took action because Clear Capital or multiple competing AMCs communicated and coordinated concerning an appraiser who was publicly urging appraisers to resist AMC practices, the potential antitrust/group-boycott issue is considerably interesting.

Could be. Or it could be an employee at one saw a public comment and rushed back to check to see if the OP is on their list, and elevated the situation from there. My read of it is that the comment was posted publicly, not in a private communication that only the one AMC would have been party to.

We've had a couple people comment on this forum that they would deny service to borrowers based on their occupation or personal characteristics, or who have gotten uppity about their right to use vocabulary in their appraisal reports that others might take offense to. I have told them it might pay to be mindful of how such comments could be used against them in the future. I've been telling everyone that although DEI and the racist appraiser themes might currently be in hiatus at the govt level we should assume they'll all be back with a vengeance the next time the left takes power. Which may very well be sooner rather than later but in any case will eventually happen no matter what.

A lender has no right to access names of panel members that are not in their rotation, the names of appraisers who complete assignments for competing lenders should be confidential.
Lender: “See attached posts. This appraiser did an appraisal for us in 2022 through you, and in 2026 through another AMC we use. I never want you to use this appraiser again.” Solidifi nvestigation ensues…
And it has been stated several times, the OP was not active on their panel and he has not completed work for them in years. Thus he is not an active panel member, and quite frankly Solidifi should do a better job of monitoring their panel. If they are so concerned about social media posts made by panel members about competitors, I would think they would be concerned about tracking an appraiser’s credentials.
So your whole argument hinges on whether OP says he was “active” or not, something he wouldn’t even know, something the letter apparently disputes.

It’s surprising given your background that you don’t understand why any entity, including a regulated one like a lender or AMC, would be concerned about potential reputational risk associated with the type of post.

Further, pretending private businesses in Trumps Murica are anywhere near slavery is idiotic. If this even enters your brain as an apt comparison you need to log off and touch some grass. People can choose who they want to do business with and it goes both ways.

I say the OP posted a half story and he's sure agitated about AMCs and lenders while claiming he doesn't do and work for them. Just Saying..)

I 100% understand reputational risk. Which is why, as I have stated, they should’ve stayed out of the drama and removed him because his credentials were expired. There was no need to get into what he posted about a competitor. That’s all they had to do, and they should’ve removed him a while back if they were actively managing their panel.

As far as what he posted, the OP stated he is fine with the blowback.

The lesson for Solidifi and other AMCs who feel they must monitor social media posts of panel members for reputational risk purposes, step one is to clean up your panel and remove inactive members. Step two, have a clear social media policy signed by your panel members. Step three, don’t get involved in the drama you claim you want to avoid. Easy peasy.

Tell me AMC's are in cahoots without telling me AMC's are in cahoots.
It seems like there's more to what you're saying.

As far as what they documented in the letter, as you know lenders and AMCs have written policies and procedures in place for instances such as this, which they must follow and they must document steps taken along the way for audit. They don't get to pick and choose.
removed him because his credentials were expired.
I show active credentials on ASC.

This is what I would call "hit someone and cry out in pain first." Post something dumb online, then complain when there's consequences. Run to Appraiser Blogs, Facebook, Appraiser Forum, etc and claim he is trying to be silenced. LOL

According to the Appraiser Blogs article, "This came from an AMC he has not worked with in roughly two years." Last appraisal he did was end of 2024/early 2025 and your lesson is Solidifi needs to clean up their panel, exactly what they are trying to do.

I have this one AMC which sends me emails and ask what is my fee and turnaround.
I can't remember getting an order from that AMC in a long time.
Is my fee too high? If so, why sending me these requests.
I'm going to send an email asking why I'm not getting any of their assignments. Communications. That's what I need.
