Glad to hear from you, Tom. BE SAFE!

Any word from JGrant? I believe she's a west coaster.
I believe shes an East coaster. If so, they did fine. I have family and many friends in Miami-Dade and Broward. They did OK but lost power early

But don't forget Jose is on the way.

Stay safe..

So says you. :) Not what NOA says. But wouldn't it be something if ferocious Irma meant to be the undoing of Florida, approached like a roaring Lion but acted more like a lamb (as far as hurricanes go) and Jose whose not supposed to be a threat or hit.....turns out to be a nuke.

Facebook friend of friend is disabled. limited supply of Oxygen, his oxy generator is electric. Power is down. He is in trouble.

That's terrible. Why didn't someone in his position, dependent on electricity to breath - get to a special needs shelter - they usually have generators or at very least prepared for this situation? Elec Power ALWAYS goes down in Hurricanes, even a minor tropical storm will take out power. Once the storm has passed responders will come and get him?

Why is he riding out a hurrican, not in a hospital, and is oxygen dependent?
Why?

I think he is in Boynton Beach and in poor health... friends are appraisers??

his post B4 mentions they have shutters...

"We are going to ride it out at home, not much choice, since I have 3 wounds that need daily nurse care."

Best of luck to him, Terrel. That's horrible and I hope he can make it through

We're still in TN for the next 2 days at least. I literally now (1:09am EST) got a call from Duke Energy (our electric provider) that power is out in our area (my home in St Pete) and no known ETA of being restored.

My wife received a FB note today from a friend saying that the sheriff back home said that anyone who evacuated (that'd be us) will not be able to go back home "not even with ID" until all damage assessment and search/rescue has been completed - "...don't rush back"

As my son calls it (he's 8) we're on an "evacucation"

Better for your son to have lifelong memories of this 'evacuation' than life long memories of whatever the worst that could have happened might be. Good Job BNM.

Love and prayers to all still there and all affected. Can not imagine what they are facing, despite all the coverage and photos.
