Is it just me or is ACI getting real buggy?

I agree with PhiloFarnsworth. I am still scratching my head as to what we are paying yearly for in regards to ACI. If they could stop the crashes, that would be a start. My ACI crashes at least once a day. There is an area in ACI when you start the age calculator for adjustments that usually always does it. Sketch saves and imports got me a couple of times, but I now save the outline of the sketch into the report before adding the rooms just in case it wants to crash. I am now receiving a particularly odd error when doing a review on a 1004 Exterior COVID-19 report. It says it wants me to put "Desktop" in the Map reference area, but that is supposed to show "Exterior." I am not sure what the issue is; it just started to happen. Due to this error, it did not allow me to send the report to my client portal, so I had to attach the XML and pdf to an email.

I emailed support but there gone for the holiday. Hey! At least now they send a support ticket number.

I attached a screenshot of the error message to this thread.

We are having a lot of problems with ACI. Crashing when we add/delete pages, crashing when loading photos, just crashing. It seems to have gotten much more buggy. Is it just us?

Mine closed down twice yesterday, when I was adding/subtracting photo pages and map pages. It started right back up where I left off, but still unnerving and annoying. Just emailed them about it. No reply yet.

****UPDATE**** Just got off the phone with tech support. They had me run a ACI web update with special update code: "w10fix" (letters are lower case) . Did a trial add/subtract forms and no crash...yet anyways. Rep said it was a Windows10 issue that they have solved.

IMO, ACI has always sucked. ACI somehow managed to convince some of the larger AMCs... Rels for example... that it was the one and the AMCs strongly recommended it or in some cases required it.

After testing and using most of the major appraiser software, Bradford ClickForms is my choice. Not perfect, but better.

The problem in switching from ACI for me has been that I would lose my (considerable) comparable database. Add to that the "get up to speed" on new software time, and I have given up on switching. Yes, I have noticed ACI has become "crashier" this year, particularly when you are adding/deleting forms to a report.

In a couple of years we are planning on moving states and that may be the time to look into a more modern appraiser software ... or not ... I like "legacy" software as I DREAD having to learn anything designed for the "Age of Handheld @$!*&$@ devices"
