Is oakland really this bad, do the politicians care.

You still rember your hippies days there. It was actually a summer of free love. Remember to put a flower in your hair.

It was the start of drug use, but more importantly got women to get rid of those bras.
Still City of Love because of accepting Tolerance which included acceptable to homeless.
I'm surprise how other parts of US so "scared" of LGBT, illegals, and such. I thought those paranoia days were over.

Last week, Oakland sold half the stadium site to a Black owned Group. I don't like it when city sells their properties to balance a budget.
Oakland needed to pay its workers this year. It will only get worst as many companies moving out, moving out jobs and real estate values go down resulting in less tax revenues.
Progressive politicians (like Gov Newsom) will worry about funding next year's budget to future politicians.

A disaster has been declared in Scurry County after the West Texas region has dealt with a whopping 61 earthquakes in just the last seven days alone.
This latest 5.0 magnitude earthquake has already been declared to be at least the 5th strongest quake in Texas’ history.

Earthquakes are becoming increasingly common in Texas in recent years, especially in West Texas. Therefore, stronger earthquakes may soon become normal in the region.

Went grocery shopping again on Tuesday. The 'homeless spot' is back and I'm noticing a group of 30-year old guys who hang around the store's bottle return and then they walk over to the 'homeless spot.' My guess is that's where they get their drugs or hugs. I guess the enforcement of the 'no right to encamp on a public street' was enforced once and then the city got tired of enforcing it.

I didn't hear about earthquakes in Texas. Didn't know Texas have them.

Speaking of bottling recycling. When I was in Connecticut Costco, people were bringing their plastic bottles and getting money back immediately.
Over here, Costco doesn't do that. Although we pay 5 or 10 cents for plastic bottles, many people throw them away and never hear from them again if they ever get recycle.
I think that's the biggest money scam in CA.
