It's been a long day: Really Stupid Question

You could get those measurements in curved space...of course, it would make for an interesting assignment.:)

Now I get a weird one, irregular, assessor measures it as 18 x 81 x 33... I know I know this... what is the square footage?

If the subject is an A frame.....all I can say is
"you measured it wrong". Tilt your head the other way!

:rof:

Come on, the answer is easy. Just apply a bit of string theory to your calculations and it will all become clear. Next stop the twilight zone. :Eyecrazy:

18' is the frontage, 81 feet is one side, 33' is the rear line. The other side is what it is from the rear corner to the front corner. You don't need the 4th side measurement to calculate the square footage if it is a right triangle. Do you remember any of your high school geometry?

Mike, I guess I and everyone else in this thread don't remember our geometry. I'm a bit confused with your explanation though... What would be the area then?

ok here's an update.. they don't keep records of square footage or acreage amounts, so i was faxed the plot map. its lot #17. i (tried to) recreated it in wintotal sketch, and got this, i think it's pretty close. hope the attachments worked!
