Austin, I won't be joining you in this discussion because we have strayed WAY away from the original thread. If you wish to further humiliate yourself, take it to the Watercooler or get back on topic.

Greg: I accept your white flag. You can keep your pen. Actually we have not strayed form the topic. Grammar and syntax lead to the subject of rhetoric, which encompasses the area of logic and rational thinking. It is not your grammar, writing style or syntax that trouble me, it is your logic or in this case lack thereof. You are a very confused person from a logical standpoint, but you express your illogical proclivity with impeccable style and grace with the written word. Thanks for sparing me the humiliation of further discourse. Yor are a scholar and a gentlemen. There are darn few of us left.

Greg: Yeah, I attended night school, that is how I learned to see in the dark which was the trick I used to find you out. Get a Liberal cornered and he will do two things: 1. Make personal attacks. Argumentum ad hominem, the last refuse of the shallow and unscrupulous thinker. 2. Resort to intellectual superiority and retreat back under his rock to lick his wounds. It never fails. Another notch in my gun or keyboard. That makes about 300 now. It is a shame they do not have a logic checker because you would blow a fuse! Kind of hard to unscramble an egg-head. Go back to the Water Cooler and debate your bush league buddies. :lol:

You and Austin have demonstrated the difference between a rant and a debate. To my mind, you won - hands down. I started a reply myself, but when I saw what you had written I found there was no need. You said it all. Again, Bravo.

I too am the product of a public education. More important, I am the product of educated parents, both of whom BTW had a public education. And guess what? I'm a museum-quality, card-carrying, flag-waving Liberal who believes in social equality. Like you, I enjoy listening to William F. Buckley though I often disagree with his point of view - it's just that he puts it forth so beautifully I can't help but listen.

You are correct though. We have stepped off the trail of this thread and this discussion should be moved to the watercooler. I look forward to seeing you all there. The last time I looked, this topic had attracted over 800 hits. :wink:
