B) To one and all:

McKissock is at the forefront of appraisal education in every regard. I started work with McKissock when the only Instructors were Dick McKissock, an instructor from New York state, and myself. I worked there long enough(from 1993 until 1999) to see the company grow to over 10 instructors, a new headquarters building, and courses being taught nationwide. I saw the development of course in linear and multi linear regression developed by the technology genius of the company, Matt McKissock. What I saw in the way of course text, materials, and presentation was a system second to none. Even the AI recognized and gave credit to many of their courses. They have always been first in line when either new technology was needed or when new courses and material was needed. When FHA developed the 4150.2 handbook and the requirement for registration after passing an exam was implimented in 1999, I traveled from coast to coast teaching the material. We also had supplemental material developed by myself and others that we used in the process.

I have not worked with McKissock since 1999. I found myself spending too much time on the road and backed off with a good feeling about what I had accomplished with them, and an ongoing respect for them. I know that if anyone has a concern they will be quick to address it. They have the highest in integrity and professionalism.

;) Charlotte, I thought you just might be in one of my classes in Ocean City next week

Don

Don,

I went through the "Nervous Nellie" routine, and decided not to wait until the last month to finish up my Delaware education. Sorry I'll miss your classes....that Factory Built Housing class a couple years ago, was extremely valuable. But, then, my Maryland license expires in July 2004, so I'll be needing more for that. Hope you'll be teaching something after the first of the year!

I think one or two of the kids......ah, er.....other appraisers are coming to your October class, though.

Regards......

Does anyone know if Mckissock offers the full 15 hour USPAP class online? (Virginia requires 15 hours for initial licensure). I am not licensed and have never taken an USPAP class. Also, would you recommend an online class as my first formal educational experience with USPAP? Thanks in advance.

JC

Jason,
Even though we plan to convert our 15-hour USPAP course to online delivery, I would recommend taking that course with a live instructor for your first USPAP experience. There is a great deal of information to absorb, even for those who have been licensed for several years.

I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this information, but to answer your question, McKissock is offering this course in Virginia in the next few months in the following locations:

Richmond: October 4-5
Virginia Beach: October 10-11
Fairfax: December 15-16
Alexandria: February 13-14

Thank you,
Melissa

... have test to take as you go along. I never passed a single one of them the first time. Normally I do really well on tests Past online CE classes were simple to pass. Not this one. I had to go back and look up answers and take notes to pass it.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that missed questions!

39 more appraisals and I can apply for my license, no more being a trainee!!! Then it will be time to take Mckissocks FHA exam course. It only has one exam at the end as practice for taking the real FHA exam… I can hardly wait...
