Another one of the rats fell today.........it is not even close to being over.

A federal grand jury has been hearing testimony for more than a year about Black's campaign finances, though Black has not been charged with any crimes. Before Tuesday, three other people associated with Black had pleaded guilty or were convicted of conspiracy and lobbying law violations in the past seven months.

Hopefully soon they will get to the black rat.

Make Bob's Day!

This must have made Bob's day.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Former State House Speaker Jim Black will resign from office and plead guilty to a federal corruption charge, The Charlotte Observer reported Tuesday night.

$50,000 paid for a state legislator to switch to the Democratic Party?

I can imagine the Republicans not wanting to claim someone selling the majority control for any $$, let alone $50,000. Can we assume similar corruption on both sides?

Aren't all the pieces of legislation voted in during the "swing voter's" term tainted?
There should be re-votes called for by the people on anything major passed where the voting was close! There should be no benefit going forward to any interest group for such manipulation of representative government.

I'm not aware of all the shinanigans, but Roger makes a VERY valid point.

I bet he doesn't serve a day. I used to work for a company owned by the former secretary of transportation of NC. He was all caught up in the same type of scandals, money for political seats, etc. He ended up getting charged with money laundering, insurance fraud and illegal gambling. he was sentenced to a few months in the hole. I don't know if he served any of it.
