My Disto Died

I got a post card that Bosch Tools has come out with a laser range finder.

There is a new/never used Classic 5 with case for sale on a local appraisal website here in GA. It is Georgiaappraiser.com under classifieds. The old Classic 5 is great. Mine has been going for years.

I use the disto with eye scope in the following way to measure exterior wall angles between 90° and 180°:

1. Measure angle leg 1 distance with Disto.
2. Measure angle leg 2 distance with Disto.
3. For interior angle, measure hypotenus distance (cannot be done on exterior angle).
4. Use hand angle measurer directly on wall angle (essentially a rotating ruler with lock).
Should be within 1-5° preciseness depending on wall covering.

Another angular measurement that is well suited to the Disto is an angular overhang.

1. Measure height of lowest point in roof/canopy ceiling using Disto.
2. Measure height of highest point in roof/canopy using Disto.
3. Measure distance (horizontal) between above two measuring points with Disto.
4. This gives two legs of a right triangle, hence, hypotenuse distance = sq rt (leg 1 squared + leg 2 squared), cosine (x) = horizontal length/ hypotenuse where x = overhang angle, use calculator inverse cosine button to confirm angle
